Looking for musicians
As you could have probably guessed from our last post, The Lift Up is currently looking for a bass player. From Joe Castro:
“We’re looking for a bass guitarist who’s open minded, easy to work with, sense of humor, thick skinned, etc. etc. My goal is to change things up a bit with the next batch of songs, and hopefully broaden our sound a bit. As a sign-post, I would say I love the bass playing of Andy Rourke, Mani, Dee Dee Ramone, Paul Simonon, Mike Watt, Geezer Bulter, Donald “Duck” Dunn (to name a few) . An appreciation for the songwriting of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Joe Strummer, The Ramones, Morrissey, 50s rock-n-roll, 60’s garage, 70’s punk, 80’s new wave are all obvious pluses. Well read, educated, artist-types a plus. Ability to sing backup vocals or write music also valuable.
Currently, we’re based out of the Philadelphia suburbs/north Wilmington, DE area.
And on that note, we’re also looking for some multi-instrumentalists. Maybe someone to add piano or keyboards, second guitar, percussion, whatever. If you like what you’ve heard from us so far, then hit us up at theliftupHQ@gmail.com.
Honestly, I really despise writing these things. It’s impossible not to sound like a complete corndog.“
